Postcolonialism
Postcolonial philosophy examines the structures of knowledge, subjectivity, and culture produced by colonial domination and their persistence after formal independence. Fanon's analysis of the colonial wound; Said's critique of Orientalism as a Western discursive construction; Spivak's question of whether the subaltern can speak — together they constitute a fundamental challenge to the universalist pretensions of Western philosophy.
