Anarchism

Anarchism holds that all forms of hierarchical authority — the state, capitalism, the church — are unjustifiable impositions on human freedom and should be abolished. From Proudhon's declaration that property is theft, through Bakunin's revolutionary collectivism and Kropotkin's mutual aid, to Tolstoy's Christian anarchism and contemporary anarcho-communism, it offers a sustained critique of domination and a vision of voluntary, cooperative social organisation.
