The Confucian Path

Confucianism, rooted in the teachings of Kongzi and developed by Mencius and Xunzi, places the cultivation of virtue, the rectification of social relationships, and the pursuit of humaneness at the centre of the good life. Government by moral example, the importance of ritual propriety, and the cultivation of the self through learning are its enduring themes. It shaped the culture and governance of East Asia for two millennia.
